Molecular Microprograms

Speaker: Manuel García-Quismondo, Ph.D. student (University of Seville)

Abstract: This talk discusses a model of an artificial biochemistry introduced by Susan Stepney’s research group from the University of York (UK). This model describes the hypothetical RNA world that originated Life on Earth. Our goal is to understand this framework and represent it using P systems in order to incorporate compartmentalisation. This will constitute a model of an artificial biochemistry that postulates the origin of Life as a combination of self-replicating RNA strands and vesicles.
